A baby girl was born onboard an IndiGo flight while travelling from Bengaluru to Jaipur on Wednesday morning.
The baby was delivered with the help of cabin crew and a doctor, who was traveling on the flight as a passenger.
“A baby girl was born mid-air on board flight 6E 469 from Bangalore to Jaipur. The baby was delivered with the help of the IndiGo crew, effectively assisted by Dr Subahana Nazir, travelling with us on the same flight.” – the airline said in a statement.
Jaipur airport was immediately informed to arrange an ambulance on arrival. Both the baby and mother are stable.
Dr. Subhana Nazir, who helped deliver the baby, was welcomed into the arrival hall and a Thank You card was handed over by IndiGo’s Jaipur staff.
Last October, in a similar case, a baby was delivered on IndiGo’s Delhi – Bangalore flight with the help of a doctor who happened to be onboard and who was assisted by a cabin crew.
