Your cabin crew layover bag should stay light and practical. After a 10–14 hour duty, you will be tired. You do not want to drag a heavy bag through the hotel. You need items that help you rest, shower, and feel ready for the next flight. Start with clothes. Pack one simple outfit for the layover. Comfortable but neat. Hotels are often 4–5 star, and you may see passengers. Add sleepwear and clean underwear. For a 24–48 hour stay, that is usually enough.
Bring basic toiletries in travel size. Toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, face wash, moisturiser, and shaving items if needed. Keep liquids under 100 ml. Hotel products are not always good for your skin.
Think about recovery. Compression socks for the next sector. Basic pain relief if allowed. Rehydration tablets. A small snack like protein bars or nuts. Shops are not always close to the hotel.
Keep electronics simple. Phone charger. Power bank. Universal adapter. Some crew carry a short extension lead because sockets are often far from the bed.
Small comfort items help more than extra clothes. Eye mask. Earplugs. Small laundry bag. Foldable tote for a quick supermarket stop.
What you do not need: multiple outfits, full-size bottles, heavy books, extra shoes. Extra weight becomes annoying fast.
Most crew keep their layover bag around 5–8 kg. If it already feels heavy at the airport, you packed too much.
Pack for rest. Not for fashion.
