A JetBlue flight from New York to San Francisco was diverted to Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport on Sunday. An unruly passenger refused to wear a mask, began snorting a white substance and harassed multiple passengers, reports said.

Witnesses say the passenger was carrying a bag filled with a white substance, which he began snorting on the flight. The man refused to wear a mask and made stabbing gestures toward another passenger.

The MSP Airport Police arrested the 42-year-old man on probable charges of fifth-degree drug possession.

According to one of the passengers “he kept walking back and forth to the bathroom, he had no shoes on, and he smelled awful.”

“I think everyone was very uncomfortable and he posed a flight risk and, again, kudos to the captain for keeping everyone safe and taking appropriate action,” said a witness who was sitting near the passenger.

A JetBlue representative said that once the flight landed, the passenger was removed by law enforcement. The flight continued to San Francisco.

The representative added, “Safety is JetBlue’s first priority, and we appreciate our crew members’ response and our customers’ patience during this incident.”
